The power of Pilates pals.

Writer: Lucia Farina

We think that Pilates is a great (actually the best, totally biased views here yes we know) form of exercise that can improve your strength, flexibility, and balance, but did you know that doing Pilates with a buddy can make it even better? In this blog, we'll touch on the benefits of working out with a partner and why doing Pilates with a friend is actually a fabulous idea.

  1. Having a workout buddy can help to keep you motivated and on track. When you know someone else is counting on you to get to class, it can be easier to stick to your exercise routine and look after your spine!

  2. Working out with a friend can make exercise more fun. Pilates is already low-impact, low-stress form of exercise, but having someone to meet up with and share the experience with can make it that bit more enjoyable if you feel that exercise can be a chore. After all, not loving exercise is not really a good enough reason not to do it, it's way too important to our health to avoid it.

3. Doing Pilates with a buddy can also provide you with validation and support. Your pilates partner can encourage you and celebrate the wins when you have them!

4. Having a workout partner can also bring a healthy level of drive to your Pilates routine. When your friend achieves ease in that specific exercise, it can stimulate you to want to achieve it too, after all, everything is totally achievable at Trinity, with consistency and desire!

5. Doing Pilates with a buddy can also be a great way to save money. You can split the cost of a Pilates session (we call it a duet) making it a more accessible form of exercise.

6. You can make it a social activity! Pilates and brunch! So your catch ups with friends are that bit more wholesome.

7. Make your friends really happy as they may not have known they'd love Pilates so much if you didn't invite them along!

In conclusion, doing Pilates with a buddy has many benefits, from increased motivation and accountability to a more fun and enjoyable workout experience.

The one thing we have noticed is that many of our wonderful clients come in for class and make friends with those who already attend the class, which is good too as you can lighten the load and destress when you come in. Seeing as nobody knows you personally, you get to switch off from the woes of life and also celebrate the achievements and good things that happen out of the studio.

We find it creates a nice community of like minded people when you either make new friends or bring your friends to the studio. Bring a buddy with you and see how it may positively affect your exercise experience.

We are offering a FREE Trial class for new clients during Feb, this is your chance to grab a pal and try our studio out!

shoot an email to info@trinitypilates.com.au and we will get you booked in :)
